2003 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Designo Launch Edition
SOLD
This SL500 is one of 2,000 Designo Launch edition examples, finished in Designo silver over a black leather interior. Currently showing just over 50k miles, this SL has a clean CarFax report, a fresh PA state inspection, and a clean bill of health. Most recently it received a full service, including an oil change, brake fluid flush, cabin and engine air filters, as well as engine and transmission mounts. Everything on the car functions as it should, including the Active Body Control suspension, which is free of leaks. The car features 19″ AMG wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero all-season tires showing 2020 date codes. Inside, it features fully powered leather seats with heating, cooling, massage, and memory functions, as well as dual-zone climate control and a Bose stereo. The power-retractable convertible top works as it should, and a draft excluder is present for calmer top-down motoring. Imperfections are limited to some wear on the wheels, as well as some cracks in the wood trim lacquer. Overall, this SL is in excellent condition inside and out. It offers a very versatile package for the money, with the added bonus of being a limited edition model. Asking $24,995.
1995 Acura NSX-T
SOLD
This Acura NSX-T was purchased new at Lehigh Valley Acura in June 1995, and remained with its original owner until our acquisition in early 2023. Upon its arrival it was immediately sent to the ‘NSX whisperer’ at Daisy Import Auto in Woodbine, Maryland for a full major service. There it received a full fluid service, a new timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, tensioners, gaskets, belts and hoses. Additionally, four new tires are fitted to freshly refinished OEM NSX wheels. This NSX is currently showing just over 39,000 miles, and looks sensational in Formula red over a tan leather interior. Currently live on bringatrailer.com. To view the auction click here.

1972 Triumph TR6
SOLD
1972 Triumph TR6 came to us as a stalled, yet 95% complete, restoration project taken out of a 37-year period of ownership. The fitment of a new convertible top, all new brake hydraulics, and four new tires have brought this TR6 back to life. It wears a unique hue of yellow, which is non-original but looks right at home. All the interior fitments look and operate as new, and the car goes down the road beautifully. Our TR6 was recently sold on Bringatrailer.com. To view the auction results click here.
1986 Porsche 928S
SOLD
1986 Porsche 928S. The Porsche 928 was an incredibly forward-thinking design, so much so that it won the European Car of the Year award when it was launched in 1978 – an unheard-of achievement for a sports car. The platform was so versatile that it stayed in production for 17 years until its cancellation in 1995. This particular example is an S with a four-speed automatic transmission, and currently shows just over 80,000 miles. It’s best described as a driver, used locally here in Lancaster by its most recent owner of 26 years. Sold on bringatrailer.com. To view the auction results click here.
1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL convertible
SOLD
1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL convertible. This 450SL spent time in California, before recently being relocated to the Mid-Atlantic region. The red leather interior was retrimmed in 2020, and at the same time the car received a new alternator, new rubber hoses, and four new tires. This SL is in fully functioning order with a recent fluid change and safety inspection. Recently sold on bringatrailer.com. To view the auction results click here.

1951 Jaguar XK120 FHC
SOLD
1951 Jaguar XK120 FHC. This gorgeous Jaguar XK120 Fixed-Head Coupe is an older restoration completed by XKs Motorsports out of San Luis Obispo, CA. During the restoration, the car was repainted in its current shade of maroon and built to the same specifications done to a car owned by Jay Leno in period. Its numbers-matching inline-six was fully rebuilt with larger carburetors, enlarged valves, and a new camshaft. At the same time, a lightened flywheel was added with an all-synchromesh 5-speed manual gearbox, and a sports exhaust. This XK was recently sold on bringatrailer.com. 1990 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce, finished in Stellar Blue over tan leather interior. Purchased out of long-term ownership in Maryland, this Alfa benefits from being well maintained and regularly driven. Its previous owner went to the effort of having the carpets and seat leather replaced, as well as the convertible soft top. Recent mechanical maintenance reportedly includes a replacement clutch and radiator, and overall cosmetically this Alfa presents very well. Accompanying the car is a full set of factory original Cromodoro wheels. It currently shows just under 78,000 miles on the odometer and comes fully serviced and ready to be enjoyed. Currently for sale on bringatrailer.com. To view the live auction click here.

1995 Acura NSX -T
SOLD
1995 Acura NSX-T, finished in Formula Red over black leather. We purchased this vehicle out of a collection in Dallas, where it sat alongside a rare ’67 Ghia 1500GT. The previous owner of the car recently treated it to a comprehensive service, including the replacement of the timing belt. These NSX’s are exceptionally usable super sports cars, and this 1995 example benefits from being the first year to offer the removable targa roof. Additional conveniences include cruise control, power seats, and automatic climate control. This NSX-T now shows just over 53,000 miles and has a clean CarFax report. This NSX-T was recently sold on bringatrailer.com. To view the auction results click here.
1967 Ghia 1600GT
SOLD
1967 Ghia 1500GT. The Ghia 1500GT was a fascinating yet often forgotten Italian piece of moving art. Based on the ho-hum Fiat 1500 saloon, the 1500GT features a shortened wheelbase sat beneath one of the most elegant bodies able to be had for under $250,000. This example, in its sporty red on black color combination, has recently been fully restored and features an unusual twist in the form of a 120 horsepower Volvo engine and 4-speed gearbox. Standard 1500GT’s were powered by a 1481cc inline 4 and were just over half as potent. Thankfully for purists, a rebuilt example of the standard engine accompanies the sale of this little Italian fastback. This Ghia has covered less than 1000 miles since its restoration and is nearly perfect throughout. Less than 900 examples were produced, and it’s unknown how many remain today, making this an exceptional opportunity to own a very stylish and rare Italian coupe.
1960 Mercedes-Benz 190SL – Barn Find
SOLD
This 190SL was originally sold to a Willard D. Powell of Long Beach, CA through Danyluk Motors Inc., on May 14, 1960, and it would remain with him until March of 1981. Its second owner enjoyed the car in California until his relocation to Pennsylvania in 2004. It was at that time the car was parked in a fieldstone barn and it would remain there until our acquisition of the car in August 2022. While clearly a total restoration project, its long time in California is apparent by the car’s lack of rust in critical areas of the chassis, body mounts, body, and sills. The car’s odometer shows 23,000 miles, which has rolled over once. Included with the car are copies of its service history, the California title from 1981, its original sale placard, some spares, as well as all its books and manuals.

1983 Mercedes-Benz 380SL, finished in Champagne metallic over Tan MB-Tex. We recently acquired this SL from a Pennsylvania couple who owned the car for 31 years. In preparation for sale, we refinished the wheels, fitted new tires, and a new convertible soft top. Additional work included replacement of the fuel pump, fuel filter, an oil service and safety inspection. Cosmetically, the car is almost entirely original and presents very nicely. 1957 Ford Thunderbird Ecode
SOLD
An exciting find, this ’57 Thunderbird is not your run of the mill cruiser. Out of the more than 50,000 first-generation Thunderbirds sold, less than 1,500 were optioned with the 270-horsepower 312 c.i. V8 featuring dual Holley 4-barrel carburetors. This particular example underwent a frame-on restoration in the mid 90’s, just after its most recent owner’s acquisition. It was also at this time that the Continental kit was installed, with its rear bumper extension and covered external spare. In preparation for sale, we treated the car to a simple fluid service and safety inspection, as well as a new set of Coker wide-whitewall tires. Known as an E-code car (designated by the first digit of its VIN), this is a rare opportunity to own one of the more unique offerings from Ford in the 50’s.

The interior remains in very nice condition, with broadcloth door trims and a leather bench seat. Nice details include rubber pedal covers and a roller-blind for the rear window. Mechanically, the engine was bored out during the rebuild and fitted with high compression pistons. This T is equipped with an electric start, generator, and distributor for added usability. 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza coupe
SOLD
This beautiful Corvair was purchased by its most recent owner in 2008 from the Corvair Ranch in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, who had freshly completed a restoration on the car after finding it in a barn in Arkansas. The car was refinished in its original color combination of Ermine White over Turquoise interior, per its trim tag and original window sticker. The car is brimming with wonderful period correct Corvair details, including the GM compass, tissue holder, glass bottle de-icer, and color coordinated floor mats. To drive, this Corvair sets a benchmark for the model. The rebuilt 2.7-liter flat-six runs beautifully and the 2-speed Powerglide shifts smoothly, while both remain dry underneath. Everything functions as it should, including the AM radio and analog clock. Accompanying the car are several spare parts, a litany of restoration and service receipts, as well as two sets of keys, each with their own unique Corvair keychain. For the detail-oriented enthusiast, this Monza ticks all the boxes. We recently sold this car on bringatrailer.com. To view the auction results click here.

A top-cover is included for when the top is down. 1957 Austin-Healey 100-6 BN4
SOLD
Michael’s Motor Cars was very happy to offer this very nicely restored Austin-Healey 100-6 BN4. This car underwent a full restoration by its prior owner, a Mr. Wheatley out of Albany, NY. While Mr. Wheatley spent most of his time restoring early Mercedes-Benz SL’s, he acquired this Healey in 2006 and completed the project in 2012.
During the restoration, this Healey was fitted with a Chevrolet 350/350 V8 and a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. This powertrain suits the character of the Healey perfectly. While the V8 produces more than enough power, it’s a very smooth runner and the gearbox is precise. Combine that with a subdued exhaust and this car extremely friendly and easy to live with.
The restoration has not visibly aged in any way. The paint is a mix of a Chevrolet red and a Mercedes silver, and it remains glossy with no signs of cracking or lifting. Inside, the red leather and carpets look new. Brightwork is impeccable throughout. Differentiations from standard include a wood rimmed Motolita wheel and console panel for controlling the electric fuel pump. The analog odometer shows under 800 miles.
Included with the car is a stack of invoices and a disc with almost 100 photos documenting the restoration. This Healey is in beautiful condition and offers a great solution for someone interested in an ‘optimized’ classic that’s easy to drive and enjoy. Recently sold on bringatrailer.com. 1932 Ford Hotrod
SOLD
For us, one of the best parts of this business is getting familiar with cars that have important roles in the history of personal transportation. From the VW Microbus to the Jaguar E-type, from an early pickup truck to a stately Rolls-Royce, they’re all fun to imagine how they would’ve felt back in the day. This is exactly why they’re worth preserving.
And you can’t talk about the history of the motorcar without talking about humankind’s obsession with seeing how fast they can go. In 1940’s America, this meant hot rods. 1930’s American roadsters and coupes – chopped, channeled, stiffened, with big engines and slick tires fitted to mercilessly grip tarmac. They looked good too.
The Ford roadster on offer today has lived that life. This car began its days on the east coast in 1932. Twenty years later, it was purchased by a young Pennsylvania man who set about turning it into a C-class dragster for the York US 30 dragway. The doors were welded shut for stiffness, and the body was channeled to sit lower onto the frame. After a brief stint being driven a quarter mile at a time, it was purchased by the owner of a Sinclair service station in Maryland. His intention was to turn it back into a road car while keeping the hot rod look of the period, and gift it to his son as a college graduation present. The accompanying photograph shows the hot rod then just as it appears today, with the very proud son in front.
He enjoyed the car for a brief couple of years (despite the predictable accumulation of speeding tickets), but family life quickly took over and the car found itself sat in storage. It would remain stationary until its most recent owner’s acquisition in 2011. After fifty years of non-use, it was remarkably well preserved but in desperate need of an overhaul. Thankfully, over the coming years it was treated to an extremely high-quality sympathetic restoration with no regard to expense.
The 1953 Mercury flathead V8 and Lincoln three-speed manual gearbox were rebuilt, while the original radiator was re-cored to a higher capacity. The body was sanded down to bare metal, primed, and beautifully painted. Great efforts were made to replace as few parts as possible. To this day, the exhausts, windshield frame, radiator grille, and bulkhead are original to the car. The only visual differences in the car from how it existed in 1958 are limited to a smaller-diameter steering wheel and thinner interior striping. Popular period-correct modifications include taillights from a ’41 Chevy and bucket seats from an Austin-Healey 100-6.
The car remains in exemplary condition today, a testament to the quality of the restoration it received. An electric fuel pump makes it eager to start, and it runs beautifully once up and going. It’s an event just to climb into, and a brute to drive with heavy inputs for each limb. We salute anyone brave enough to drive it at 10/10ths.
Most hot rods today have stories that only go back a few years, powered by later engines sat within recently fabricated custom bodies. Few can tell the stories this car can, making this an exceptionally rare opportunity to own a unique piece of American history. And yes, it triggers entirely positive responses from everyone lucky enough to see it pass by.
